Deserts are areas with extremely dry climates. There is very little rainfall, and the land is mostly covered with sand. Vegetation is scarce, and only some special-adapted plants can survive there. Sandstorms are common, which can cause great harm to the environment and people's lives.
As middle school students, we can do a lot to improve the desert environment. First, we should save water and other resources in our daily lives, because water is precious in deserts. Second, we can participate in tree-planting activities. Trees can help fix the sand and prevent sandstorms. Also, we can spread environmental protection knowledge among our classmates and in the community. By raising people's awareness of environmental protection, more people will pay attention to desertification and take actions to improve it. In a word, although we are just middle school students, we can still make a difference in improving the desert environment.
