Yang Liwei is the first Chinese astronaut to enter space. He was born in Huludao, Liaoning Province in 1965. He showed a great interest in flying at an early age. He dreamed of flying in the blue sky like a seagull one day when he was young.
From 1983 to 1987, he studied in Aviation University of Air Force. After graduating from college, he served as a pilot in the Air Force of the CPLA. In 1998, he and other 13 pilots became the first Chinese astronauts. In 2003, Yang took Shenzhou-V and entered space. After flying for around 21 hours, he landed on the Earth successfully.
Chinese people consider Yang Liwei as our national hero. He is the pride of all the Chinese.
